ABOUT OUR FACILITATOR
Justin Fogel, the facilitator for Leanna Organics' breathwork session, has been passionately creating music for breathwork since 2015. Prior to the pandemic, he hosted bi-weekly sessions in Boulder, providing a dedicated space for individuals to explore the transformative power of breath and music. Additionally, Justin has shared his expertise at numerous music festivals, yoga festivals, and private events, enriching the breathwork experience for a wide range of participants.
WHAT IS BREATHWORK?
Breathwork a practice involving conscious and intentional breathing techniques, has been used for centuries in various cultures worldwide. It offers a wide range of benefits to the nervous system, promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being. By consciously altering the breath pattern, we can positively influence our autonomic nervous system, which regulates our body's stress response.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
During the breathwork healing session you will be guided through various breathing exercises designed to activate the body's relaxation response. Deep, rhythmic, circular breathing can help release physical tension, reduce anxiety, and promote a sense of calm and peace. The session will be led by experienced facilitators who will create a safe and supportive environment for your journey inward.
WHY LEANNA ORGANICS' BREATHWORK?
Leanna Organics partnered with an expert musician/breathwork facilitator who plays live musical instruments over prerecorded tracks. The use of live musical instruments guides the participants into deep relaxation. The faciliator will help you sync your breath with the rhythm, allowing the music to take you deeper into your experience.
The unique live music and deep rhythmic breath open the door to the subconscious, and a curious, gentle, holding of difficult emotions along with ciclical breathing can release them. This letting go of heavy energy in the mind and body through awareness and breath can provoke profound healing and transformation.
WHAT TYPE OF INSTRUMENTS?
Our facilitator will immerse you in a soundscape with Didgeridoo, singing bowls, guitars, synthesizers, Ableton, percussion, and field recordings. Each device carries distinct vibrations and tones, adding depth to the healing journey.
The Didgeridoo, an Indigenous Australian wind instrument, profoundly impacts the nervous system with its deep and resonant sound. Singing bowls create a soothing atmosphere and balance the body's energy with their rich tones.
Guitars, synthesizers, Ableton, percussion, and field recordings enhance the experience, creating a diverse sonic landscape. Played by Justin, these instruments support breathwork and guide your inner exploration.
IS BREATHWORK SAFE?
Breathwork is generally considered a safe practice when done under proper guidance. Participating in breathwork sessions led by experienced facilitators who can provide a safe and supportive environment is crucial. The facilitators are trained to address any physical or emotional discomfort that may arise during the session. Additionally, participants are encouraged to communicate their needs and limitations to ensure a tailored and safe experience. When practiced responsibly, breathwork can be a transformative and healing modality. Our facilitator is trauma-informed, and we will have a trained therapist on-site for this event to support anyone that needs help.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
During a breathwork session at Leanna Organics and Justin Fogel, the accompanying music enhances the experience. The carefully curated music creates a supportive and immersive atmosphere, aiding in deepening your breathwork journey. The soothing melodies, rhythmic patterns, and diverse instruments harmonize with the breathwork practice, facilitating a deeper connection with emotions, promoting relaxation, and assisting in releasing and resolving any inner tensions or traumas.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Breathwork offers numerous benefits, including a gateway to the subconscious mind. Reaching the subconscious can be challenging, but breathwork creates a bridge through deep, intentional, circular breathing. This heightened state of consciousness allows for exploring buried emotions, traumas, and limiting beliefs, facilitating healing, personal growth, and self-awareness. It offers an opportunity to release and resolve deep-seated issues that may impact one's well-being.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?
To prepare for the breathwork session, it is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat, blanket, or cushion for your comfort. Eat a light meal beforehand, hydrate adequately, and avoid heavy caffeine or stimulants. Arrive with an open mind, willingness to explore, and readiness to surrender to the transformative experience that breathwork offers.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
While breathwork is generally safe, some potential side effects may include lightheadedness, tingling sensations, emotional releases, or temporary feelings of discomfort. These experiences are often brief and indicate stored emotions and energy release. It is essential to practice breathwork under the guidance of a qualified facilitator and communicate any concerns or discomfort during the session.
HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM MEDITATION OR OTHER RELAXATION TECHNIQUES?
Breathwork differs from meditation and other relaxation techniques in that it primarily focuses on conscious and intentional breathing patterns. While meditation often emphasizes stillness and mindfulness, breathwork uses specific breathing techniques to activate the body's relaxation response, leading to deeper emotional exploration, energetic shifts, and transformative experiences.
CAN BREATHWORK HELP WITH SPECIFIC ISSUES OR CONDITIONS?
Breathwork has been found to be beneficial for various issues and conditions. It can help with stress management, anxiety reduction, emotional healing, trauma resolution, improving focus and clarity, enhancing creativity, promoting self-awareness, and cultivating a sense of overall well-being. However, consulting with a qualified professional for personalized guidance and support is important.
WILL I STIR UP TRAUMATIC MEMORIES AND BECOME OVERWHELMED?
While breathwork has the potential to bring up emotions and memories, it is typically done in a safe and controlled environment. Experienced facilitators at our breathwork session create a supportive space, ensuring participants are guided through the process with care, allowing for a gradual release and resolution of trauma while minimizing the risk of becoming overwhelmed.
