FULL SPECTRUM vs CBD ISOLATE

full spec vs cbd isolate comparison

If you are new to CBD, your head may be filled with questions. After all, hemp products are different from traditional solutions, and how CBD works is unlike pharmaceuticals. It is a plant-based remedy that is more accessible, from nature, and less complicated. Additionally, there are many types of CBD; Isolate-based, broad-spectrum, and full-spectrum. Not to mention other cannabinoids such as CBD, CBN, and CBC, to name a few.

If you are researching the difference between CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD, you are in the right place! Our article reviews how each is made, the benefits, and how to choose the right CBD for you.

WHAT IS FULL-SPECTRUM CBD?

Full-spectrum CBD contains most of the compounds that occur in the cannabis plant. These compounds include terpenes, flavonoids, CBN, CBG, and CBC. Because these terpenes and flavonoids are present, the smell and taste of the plant are noticeable. Studies have found that cannabinoids have a synergistic effect when they are taken together. Full-spectrum CBD is known as a whole-plant remedy. Leanna Organics offers full-spectrum CBD oil and full-spectrum CBD for pets. Additionally, our CBD massage oil is made with full-spectrum oil with an array of lesser-known cannabinoids.

WHAT IS CBD ISOLATE?

CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD. It also has the highest concentration of cannabidiol, at 99.99%. Most Leanna Organics products, including CBD salves, CBD bath bombs, and most topicals, are made with CBD isolate. We wanted to get the most CBD in our product, and because working with isolated molecules of CBD removes the smell and taste of the plant, this allows us to control the scent of our products. Isolate-based CBD is the purest form of CBD because all other elements have been removed.

HOW IS YOUR CBD EXTRACTED?

We buy our CBD in bulk from local farms and labs using a CO2 extraction. CO2 is the most organic way to extract CBD and other cannabinoids of the plants. It does not require harsh chemicals that cause harm to our users. What most people don't know is that isolate-based CBD requires additional post-extraction. For this extra processing, we use natural solvents that come from the earth and are non-harmful. In addition, we third-party test our bulk CBD to ensure no residual solvents and that our hemp is free from THC and toxic elements such as pesticides and heavy metals. You can be assured when using Leanna Organics CBD product, you are using the purest and most natural CBD available.

HOW IS CBD ISOLATE MADE?

CBD isolate is processed from industrial hemp in a wide variety of methods. The safest extract method is supercritical CO2; however, some companies use other extraction methods, such as ethanol-based distillation. Again, Leanna Organics CBD is extracted using CO2 to ensure you get the most natural CBD extracts. After the initial extraction, post-extraction removes fats, lipids, waxes, impurities, and unwanted plant particles to give you 99.99% pure CBD isolate. While some companies use harsh chemicals to remove these impurities and to process the isolate further, we use only natural solvents. Leanna Organics third-party tests all CBD for cannabinoid levels, pesticides, solvents, and heavy metals. This ensures that our CBD oil products are free from hazardous elements and are pure and potent.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBD ISOLATE?

At first glance, there might be little difference between CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD. However, CBD isolate has many different benefits:

●        While removing all THC from the hemp plant is impossible, CBD isolate removes 99.9% or more THC. Versus Full-spectrum CBD has .3% THC or less.

●        CBD isolate works well in food or drinks and can be consumed in several ways, including vaporizing.

●        CBD isolate is the easiest way to add to your favorite recipe. It is versatile, and because it is tasteless and odorless, it is excellent to cook with!

CBD isolate is used in various CBD topicals, oils, bath bombs, and products for internal use. It is ultimately the safest way to consume CBD if you don't want to worry about consuming THC. It can also be said that CBD isolate the purest form of CBD because it is 99.99% CBD with all other components removed.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF FULL-SPECTRUM CBD?

Full-spectrum CBD products are also popular. Even though full-spectrum CBD tends to contain around .3% THC, this is nowhere near enough chemical compound necessary to get a "high" at the recommended measurement. Some additional cannabinoids in full-spectrum CBD have benefits:

●        CBC, CBDV, and CBG are cannabinoids that potentially have properties and can support various systems within the body.

●        CBN is another cannabinoid that can potentially support calm within the body

Full-spectrum CBD contains vitamins, essential fats, and proteins that positively affect the various systems within your body. CBD isolate, while just as effective as full-spectrum CBD, often lacks the vitamins and minerals found in full-spectrum CBD.

HOW IS FULL-SPECTRUM CBD MADE?

Full-spectrum CBD oil is closer to the way nature intended it. It requires less processing and doesn't need solvents for post-extraction. Some batches of Leanna Organics CBD are extracted mechanically, without even CO2. However, some of our full-spectrum does come from CO2 extraction. Both methods are 100% natural and free from chemicals. Regardless of the extraction method, Leanna Organics always third-party tests our CBD with independent labs to confirm our extracts are safe and won't cause harm to our users.

LEGAL IMPLICATIONS FOR FULL-SPECTRUM CBD

What is essential to understand about CBD is that it is legal in all 50 states. However, some states are more strict than others. Therefore, if you live in a state where cannabis is heavily regulated, CBD isolate might be a preferred version of hemp to use. While full-spectrum CBD contains trace amounts of THC, it is not likely to show up on a drug test. However, there is a chance it might, so isolate-based CBD might be the right choice.

CBD ISOLATE VERSUS FULL-SPECTRUM CBD: WHICH SHOULD I USE?

By now, most Americans know that CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD have wellness benefits. We have found that people who have experience with the cannabis plant respond well to full-spectrum, and those who are new to CBD oil and the cannabis plant prefer CBD isolate-based products. Some are very sensitive to THC, even at .3% or less. For people with high sensitivity to THC and new to cannabis, we recommend products made from CBD isolate –all of our products except our full-spectrum CBD oil.

Some people will work with CBD isolate after using full-spectrum CBD for quite some time and find that it meets their needs. Ultimately, choosing based on your best experience would be best.

WHAT ABOUT BROAD-SPECTRUM CBD?

Another type of CBD lies between full-spectrum CBD and CBD isolate. Broad-spectrum CBD is another type that appears in the marketplace. Broad-spectrum CBD contains all of the materials of the original plant, but the THC has been mostly removed. Broad-spectrum CBD uses many of the extraction processes for CBD isolate to extract the THC, but at the end of the day, the valuable parts of the plant are kept.

WHAT IS BETTER FOR PETS, ISOLATED-BASED OR FULL-SPECTRUM CBD?

We typically recommend starting with isolate-based CBD for cats and dogs. If you have a kitten or puppy who is overactive and needs to calm down, our isolated-based CBD for pets will do the trick. Our CBD dog biscuits and mini bites are made with isolate-based CBD and are premeasured for ease. Our full-spectrum CBD oil for pets may be better if you have an older dog or cat or one suffering.
